MUD-N-YER EYE FROLIC SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory/Minimum safety equipment required for a TLCA Sponsored Off Highway event and all must be in good working order:

  • Any open vehicle must have a roll bar firmly attached to the floor. A roll bar is recommended for all vehicles.
  • Seat belts for all persons. Must be usable.
  • First aid kit.
  • Fire extinguisher, must show full charge and/or have the seal intact.
  • Tow rope, chain, cable, or strap.
  • CB antenna longer than 48 inches must be secured top and bottom, no metal whips allowed.
  • Jack, lug wrench, and a spare tire. Spare tire must have 3/32" minimum of tread.
  • Operable brake lights.
  • Mechanical Parking Brake; must be able to stall the vehicle in 2nd gear.
  • Service Brakes must be able to stall the vehicle in 1st gear.

Please limit the number of vehicles in camp due to limited camping space.

All participants are required to purchase a vehicle registration in order to participate in the Frolic event

FROM THE THE BAY AREA
Take 101 South past Morgan Hill and Gilroy. Take San Juan Bautista exit (Hwy 156 East) until you come to Union Road (second stop light). Turn right and follow park signs to Cienega Road. Turn right on Cienega Road and follow signs to the park.

FROM THE SANTA CRUZ AREA
Take Highway 1 South to 129 East to 101. Take 101 South to San Juan Bautista exit (Hwy 156 East to) Union Road (second stop light). Turn right and follow park signs to Cienega Road. Turn right on Cienega Road and follow signs to the park.

FROM THE NORTH (Stockton, Sacramento, Central Valley)
Take Interstate 5 South to Highway 33-South (Santa Nella) to Highway 152 West toward Gilroy/ San Jose. Take 152 past Casa De Fruita to Highway 156 (left turn toward Hollister). Take 156 to Union Road and turn left. Take Union to Cienega Road and turn right. Follow signs to the park.

FROM THE SOUTH (Fresno, Bakersfield)
Take Interstate 5 or 99 North to Highway 152 West Gilroy/ San Jose exit. Take 152 past Casa De Fruita to Highway 156 (left turn toward Hollister). Take 156 to Union Road and turn left. Take Union Road to Cienega Road and turn right. Follow signs to the park.Type your paragraph here.

Where:
Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area (HH-SVRA) located 6 mi. west of Hollister, California U.S.A., the HH-SVRA is set in the golden hills of the Gavilan Mountains. The San Andreas Fault runs very near the park and provides terrain for some very exciting four wheeling.


Trail:

The trail layout at Frolic is for more experienced wheelers with all makes and sizes of vehicles attending. There are, of course, the traditional 'by-passes' that most four-wheel drive events offer for those who choose to go around the technical spots. 


Registration:

Includes 2 nights camping, Saturday four-wheel drive trail run, games, 1 poker hand, 1 dash plaque, 1 cash drawing ticket, mud hole, awards, Saturday night music, and Sunday Sweepstakes drawing.  


Dinner:

Tri-Tip or BBQ Chicken dinner (Dinner includes all the trimmings) Hot Dog or Hamburger dinner for the kids.
